Asher Zavros

Asher Zavros was allegedly the sibling of Ashara Zavros, a Togruta Jedi who became a Sith. Ashara was active during both the era of the Galactic Republic and the subsequent reconstituted Sith Empire. While serving as an apprentice to the Sith Lord Darth Nox, Ashara presented a letter to her master, claiming it was from her parents; in this letter, a sixteen-year-old Asher expressed his intention to enlist in the Republic Special Forces.

The authenticity of this letter, however, is called into question because Ashara's parents, Jedi Knights Rolen and Yanila Zavros, had perished over a decade earlier during the Sacking of Coruscant in 3653 BBY.

Behind the scenes

The character Asher Zavros is brought up in the "Fear and Longing" conversation with Ashara Zavros, the Sith Inquisitor companion, in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game that BioWare launched in 2011. The letter she shares with the player is inconsistent with Ashara's established backstory, as detailed in other dialogues and the 2012 reference book, Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. In the "Masters" conversation, Ashara herself confirms that her parents died during the Sacking of Coruscant. Furthermore, both she and the Encyclopedia reveal that she was adopted by Jedi Masters Ryen and Ocera following her parents' death. Consequently, the truthfulness of the letter's content is dubious.
