Asu was a human of the male variety. He resided in Meevai Village on the planet Keelia sometime after the conclusion of the Clone Wars. He was married to Haru.
Lord Izuma, a local raider, gained control of the B1-series battle droids that the Confederacy of Independent Systems had abandoned on Keelia. At one point, Izuma demanded Haru's grandfather, the village chief, as a guarantee to prevent conflict with the village. Both Haru and Asu offered to take his place, despite her sister Saku's numerous objections. Haru and Asu's wedding ceremony occurred the evening before their scheduled capture.
On the day after their wedding, Haru and Asu surrendered themselves to Izuma. Saku and others had secretly planned to ambush the raiders, but their scheme was discovered. As Izuma prepared to execute Saku for leading the ambush, a Jedi named F intervened, saving her life. Valco, F's companion, destroyed Izuma's ship, rendering his B1-series battle droids useless. In the resulting confusion, Izuma's cohorts escaped. Izuma then seized Haru as a hostage. F swiftly defeated the raider, rescuing Haru, Asu, and the other villagers.
Later, Asu, along with other villagers, expressed their gratitude to F for her assistance, and bid farewell to the Jedi as she departed from the planet.
Asu's initial appearance was in the Star Wars: Visions short film titled "The Village Bride." Yuma Uchida provided his voice in the original Japanese version, while Christopher Sean voiced him in the English version.
