Two people served as the biological progenitors of Asu, a human male who possessed the Force-sensitive trait. Asu resided in Meevai Village, situated on the planet of Keelia. Sometime before the events described, both of his parents experienced death. During the Imperial Era, spanning from 19 BBY to 5 ABY, Asu transported his bride, Haru, to a sacred site via a bridal chair. This journey was undertaken to conduct a purification ceremony in anticipation of their wedding. En route, Haru expressed her longing for her own parents to witness the occasion. Asu reassured her, affirming his belief that they were observing from beyond and had become integrated with the planet itself. Haru concurred, adding that Asu's parents were also among those watching.
The existence of Asu's parents was alluded to in "The Village Bride," a concise cinematic work featured in the Star Wars: Visions anthology. Hitoshi Haga directed the short film, while Haga and Takahito Oonishi collaborated on its script. Kinema Citrus Co. produced the animated piece, which was made available on the Disney+ streaming service on September 22, 2021.
