Athiss was a planet. After the Battle of Kur, which occurred in 232 BBY, the Reekrider Cartel dispatched a cargo of the pleasure-inducing substance reedug to Athiss. However, before it could reach its destination, a Nihil Strike belonging to Tempest Runner Pan Eyta's Tempest intercepted and confiscated it. In 231 BBY, Tempest Runner Lourna Dee reflected on the seizure of the Reekrider Cartel's goods destined for the world by Eyta's Tempest.
Within the current Star Wars canon, Athiss received a mention in The High Republic: The Rising Storm, a 2021 novel by Cavan Scott. This novel was part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative. In the Star Wars Legends timeline, Athiss initially appeared in the Tales of the Jedi Companion, a 1996 sourcebook from West End Games penned by George R. Strayton to be used with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Later, the planet was fully depicted for the first time in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 video game developed by BioWare.
