Born on Dowut around 431 BBY, Pan Eyta was a Dowutin male. In accordance with Dowutin tradition, he was cast out of his nest at the tender age of eight years. On that very day of his departure, he narrowly escaped death after a savage encounter with a native beast. Overcome by fever that night, he was haunted by visions of slaying and devouring the creature, a victory he would soon savor.
Eyta subsequently made his way to the nearest spaceport, where he clandestinely boarded a departing ship. He brandished a blade against the two pilots, consuming them shortly thereafter. In its formative years, Eyta threw his lot in with the Nihil, a collective of anarchist pirates. His ascent led him to become a Tempest Runner, whose Tempest was known for being intellectual and flamboyant. This characteristic was met with contempt and considered a paradox by Nihil from other Tempests, especially by his fellow Runner Kassav Milliko.
In 232 BBY, Eyta and his Tempest received assistance from others during a raid on Ab Dalis in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace Disaster. In No-Space, he then presided over a celebratory feast at the Great Hall of the Nihil to commemorate the raid. Following his congratulations to the Nihil, he demanded an explanation from Zagyar, a Storm in Lourna Dee's Tempest who was held accountable for the raid's partial failure. Whether Zagyar faced punishment or another Nihil did remains unknown. Subsequently, the Eye of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, summoned the other Runners, urging them to halt their raids until the Galactic Republic reopened the hyperspace routes. While concerned for his Tempest, Pan Eyta reluctantly consented.
The Eye and the Tempest Runners reconvened to deliberate on their course of action following Kassav Milliko's accidental destruction of Eriadu's inhabited moon. Ro's display of dominance through an attack on Milliko intimidated Pan Eyta. The Dowutin swiftly aligned himself with his new leader, inquiring unprofessionally about Ro's expectations, much to the latter's astonishment.
After the Battle of Kur, the surviving Nihil congregated at the Great Hall. Marchion Ro delivered a speech and demonstration on Milliko's Tempest's "sacrifice," which he had orchestrated, moving Eyta and the rest of the Nihil. In a gesture of solidarity with their new leader, Pan Eyta, along with the rest of the organization, removed his mask.
Following a failed attack by Sarn Starbreaker, a Cloud from Eyta's own Tempest, on the Cyclor Shipyards, Eyta was summoned by his fellow Tempest Runners to Grizal, a central Nihil base established to bolster Marchion Ro's ambitions to expand the organization and their operations beyond the Outer Rim. Upon arrival, Pan nearly engaged in a physical altercation with Tempest Runner Zeetar, provoked by a newly constructed powersuit that made the Talpini taller than Eyta. Lourna Dee intervened to halt the conflict, and Pan proceeded to voice his discontent with Ro's growing influence over the Nihil to the other Runners. Marchion himself arrived at the Runners' meeting during Pan's discourse and overheard Eyta's remarks. Ro then compelled Pan to hold his helmet as a display of superiority and reprimanded Pan for permitting his Tempest to launch a raid despite Ro's prohibition. When Eyta attempted to steer the conversation back to Ro's authority over the Nihil, Ro activated a concealed device within the helmet, electrifying it and initiating Pan's electrocution. Ro left Eyta to perish in agony, but despite nearly succumbing to the booby trap, Pan eventually shattered Ro's mask in half, saving himself.
Having survived Ro's assassination attempt, Pan urged his fellow Tempest Runners to unite against the Eye. He divulged to Zeetar and Lourna that the hyperspace Paths employed by the Nihil originated not from Ro but from Mari San Tekka. The Dowutin then orchestrated a public dispute with Ro concerning the Nihil's recent inactivity following the Great Disaster, drawing the attention of the other Nihil Forces assembled on Grizal. There, he revealed the same secret of the Paths to the Tempests to undermine Ro's authority. However, Ro diffused Eyta's challenge to his position by redirecting the crowd's focus to the Nihil's forthcoming operation: an assault on the Republic Fair with the objective of assassinating Republic Chancellor Lina Soh. With the Nihil incited into a frenzy, Eyta was left with no alternative but to join in their renewed endorsement of Ro.
Eyta then became part of the massive Nihil force that attacked the Republic Fair on Valo. Throughout the raid, Eyta remained aboard the Elegencia, coordinating the overall operation and engaging ships in orbit while Lourna's Tempest managed the ground assault and Zeetar's picked off ships attempting to escape past Pan's forces. The initial Nihil attack strategy called for a bombardment from Pan's ship once Lourna's Tempest had inflicted as much damage as possible. However, when the tide of the ground battle shifted against the Nihil, Pan prematurely ordered the bombing with Nihil forces still planetside. One bomb inflicted severe injuries upon Chancellor Soh. Lourna Dee, who had been attacking the Chancellor and her companions at the time, also sustained injuries. A small squadron of Skyhawks and Jedi Vectors, led by Indeera Stokes, then targeted Pan's ships in an attempt to halt the carpet bombing. While their attack did capture Eyta's attention, all of the Skyhawks were destroyed in the assault, and Stokes was left isolated as her fellow Jedi were compelled to retreat with damaged Vectors. Before Indeera's ship could be destroyed, the Togruta fleet arrived, summoned to rescue their imperiled ruler on the planet below. Overwhelmed by these new arrivals, Pan ordered his forces to withdraw, abandoning his fellow Tempest Runners and their forces to fend for themselves.
Following the successful attack, Eyta once again clashed with the Eye, who once more ensnared him in a trap, this time with a poisonous blade. Lourna Dee provided him with an antidote, informing him that she shared his frustrations with Ro's leadership. Dee suggested that another assault on the Cyclor Shipyards would catch the Republic off guard and vulnerable. Eyta concurred with this plan and moved to attack the shipyards alongside Dee's Tempest.
Upon reaching Cyclor, the Tempest Runner was greeted by a substantial Republic and Jedi task force. Furthermore, he discovered that Dee had orchestrated this trap to eliminate the other Tempest Runner. Eyta's Tempest suffered significant losses during the ensuing battle, prompting him to utilize a secret escape ship within the Elegencia. Still afflicted by Ro's poison, Eyta escaped into hyperspace, dreading his return to Dowut.
In the wake of his defeat at Cyclor, Eyta embarked on a quest to hunt down Lourna Dee and Marchion Ro, seeking vengeance, and assembling a new crew to assist him. Still suffering from Ro's poison, Eyta was now required to wear a ventilator on his back. After failing to assassinate her on the forest world of Arbra, Eyta met his demise at the hands of Dee aboard the Restitution.
Pan Eyta, along with his Tempest, had a penchant for luxury, indulging in fancy suits and adorning his ship, the Elegencia, with an extravagant interior. Eyta also found pleasure in attending the opera and savoring exquisite beverages such as spiced wine. Eyta and his people were regarded as intellectuals.
Despite his affinity for luxury, Pan Eyta was no less ruthless than any other Nihil and adhered strictly to the organization's rules. For instance, he sought permission from Lourna Dee before dispensing justice on Zaygar because the Storm was part of her Tempest. Eyta held his Tempest in high regard, expressing concern for their well-being after Ro instructed them to cease raiding until the situation cooled down. Eyta also demonstrated unwavering loyalty to those who exhibited dominance and leadership prowess, as evidenced by his swift alignment with Marchion Ro.
Eyta's character underwent a transformation as he grew increasingly disillusioned with Ro's leadership. He became prone to outbursts of disobedience and frequently disparaged his fellow Tempest Runners. This behavior only intensified following Ro's attempted assassinations on Eyta. The Dowutin would nonchalantly and personally eliminate any Nihil who questioned his methods. The relentless abuse inflicted by Ro ultimately led to his desertion from the pirates he had known and been loyal to for over a century.
Pan Eyta donned a leather suit with pale turquoise lapels designed to accentuate his yellow skin. Like all Nihil, he wore a mask to safeguard his identity and protect himself from the poisonous gas commonly used by the Nihil. Eyta's mask bore the stylized image of a Dowutin face with horns and a beard. He carried a blaster pistol in a leg holster, possessing sufficient firepower to decapitate a being with a single shot.
