Zagyar

A male figure named Zagyar was a part of the Nihil marauder group, operating as a Storm within Lourna Dee's Tempest. He was distinguished by a mask featuring prominent, curled horns situated above the ears, and eyes visible through narrow white openings. Zagyar participated in an attack against a convoy within the Ab Dalis system. During this operation, Blit, a member of his Strikes, made a critical error in calculating a harpoon shot, resulting in the destruction of a freighter and significant casualties within his unit. Following Nihil customs, one of the surviving members of his crew was killed by being ejected into space at a banquet held in the Great Hall of the Nihil as a consequence. Later, Zagyar served on a Spider Cruiser under the command of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro during an attack targeting Trymant IV.

Biography

During the era of the High Republic Era, Zagyar, a male, became affiliated with the Nihil pirates, specifically as a member of Lourna Dee's Tempest. Within that Tempest, he achieved the rank of Storm.

Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster triggered by the destruction of the freighter known as Legacy Run, Zagyar and his group of Strikes engaged in an attack against a convoy belonging to Garello Technologies. This convoy was attempting to escape Ab Dalis due to the devastation caused by the first Emergence impacting the planet. In the course of this attack, Blit, one of Zagyar's Strikes, made a miscalculation with a harpoon shot directed at one of the convoy's six freighters. The harpoon instead struck a fuel tank. The resulting explosion destroyed the freighter, depriving the Nihil of its intended cargo and leading to the deaths of a significant portion of Zagyar's crew.

Subsequently, Pan Eyta, the Tempest Runner who had been in command of the raid, hosted a banquet at the Great Hall of the Nihil located in No-Space to celebrate. However, the Nihil's code regarding the division of spoils demanded retribution for the loss of the freighter. Eyta summoned Zagyar to explain the situation. After Zagyar detailed Blit's error, the assembled Nihil demanded blood, leading to the death of one of his crewmembers, who was thrown into the space outside the Great Hall as compensation for the loss. Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro, who observed the events, did not identify the sacrificed crewmember, as he considered such sacrifices distasteful and wasteful.

Later in his career, Zagyar was stationed on a Spider Cruiser under Ro's leadership, which journeyed to Trymant IV during an Emergence to retrieve Tromak, a member of the Elders of the Path. Ro sought information from Tromak. However, a battle erupted between the Nihil and a contingent of Jedi who had arrived to provide assistance. Amidst the chaos, Tromak and Krix Kamerat, a younger member of his sect whom he presented as his assistant to ensure his inclusion, were hastily brought aboard the cruiser. Kamerat's friend Zeen Mrala, who possessed Force-sensitive abilities (a violation of the sect's rules), requested Jedi Master Yoda to rescue her friend from the Nihil. Ro decided to depart, but Zagyar informed him that the approaching Jedi had mysteriously disappeared.

Personality and traits

Zagyar was a male. When asked to account for the loss of a targeted starship before the Nihil ranks, he remained composed, delivering a clear account of the events without dissembling or panicking. Marchion Ro acknowledged and respected this. However, he seemed to disagree with the Nihil practice of sacrificing crewmembers for errors during raids, suggesting that Blit had already paid the price for her mistake with her life. Zagyar's mask featured large, curled horns above the ears and eyes, which were visible as narrow white slits.
