An attack happened during the forty-eighth annual Dragonfire Air Rally, which was held on the planet Coruscant circa 58 BBY. Crime lord Cenevax, who operated an unlawful gambling operation, struck an agreement with Serennian racer Ramil: he would intentionally lose, allowing Cenevax's organization to gain profits from bets placed on him. As it appeared Ramil was going to renege on their agreement and win the race, Cenevax arranged for his airspeeder to be sabotaged, resulting in Ramil sustaining serious injuries in the resulting crash. Sartori, a crooked inspector from the Coruscant Security Force in Cenevax's employ, concealed the criminal act. Dooku, Ramil's brother and a Jedi Master, had been observing the race; he and his Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn, launched an investigation, following Sartori to Cenevax's den. During the interrogation of Cenevax, Dooku discovered that she possessed a contact within the Jedi Council. He then went back to confront the council members, where he found out that Master Yula Braylon was being blackmailed by the crime boss.
