This invasion occurred as the New Republic relied on the system's crucial Bilbringi Shipyards to produce a vast fleet of starships, numbering in the hundreds. The Vong's offensive commenced in 27 ABY, with their forces reaching the system by navigating the Namadii Corridor hyperlane after a prior battle in the Vortex system. Following this initial assault, the Vong continued along the same hyperlane and attacked the Borleias system. Subsequently, two years later, the Galactic Alliance and the Imperial Remnant jointly attempted to retake the Bilbringi system through a coordinated effort known as Operation Trinity. The operation ultimately failed when the Vong disabled the HoloNet relay stations, disrupting the coordination of the allied forces.
The initial mention of the Bilbringi system attack appeared in The Final Prophecy, specifically during the Galactic Alliance's attempt to reclaim it. The precise timing of the Vong's capture of Bilbringi was not explicitly detailed within the novels of the New Jedi Order series.
