Automaintenance Crew 28-G
Crew 28-G Automaintenance, a maintenance team comprised of MSE-6 series repair droids, was a droid contingent stationed on Cloud City during the Galactic Empire's time. When Lando Calrissian, the one-time Baron Administrator, undertook a rescue attempt for his aide, Lobot, from Cloud City, the cyborg Lobot, linked to the city's Central Processing unit, dispatched directives to Crew 28-G Automaintenance's droids. At the time, they were engaged in repair work on Level 110. The droids received orders to engage the Imperial stormtroopers who were in the process of breaching the control center, which facilitated Calrissian's successful rescue of Lobot.
Description
Automaintenance Crew 28-G was a self-operating droid maintenance unit functioning on Cloud City, a city suspended in the atmosphere of the gas giant planet Bespin. The crew was made up of a half-dozen MSE-6 series repair droids.
History
During the year 3 ABY, in the time of the Galactic Empire, Automaintenance Crew 28-G was occupied with performing maintenance on Level 110 of Cloud City. While the droids were working, they received communication from Lobot, the cyborg computer liaison and aide of Lando Calrissian, the former Baron Administrator. Lobot had been interfaced with Cloud City's Central Processing system following the Galactic Empire's takeover of the city.
Lobot, aiming to safeguard Calrissian, who had returned to Cloud City to save him, from a contingent of Imperial stormtroopers, transmitted revised directives to the droids of Automaintenance Crew 28-G. These instructions diverted them from their ongoing maintenance tasks and directed them down to Level 109, where the stormtroopers were attempting to forcefully enter Central Processing. The MSE series droids then engaged and subdued the stormtroopers, which enabled Calrissian to liberate Lobot, although several of the droids sustained damage during the confrontation.
