The journals of Avon represent a collection of research logs penned by the scientist Avon Starros, detailing her work on crystal theory. Subsequent to her capture by the Nihil, Avon began to understand the potential for her research to be exploited for malicious purposes, leading her to hesitate in disseminating her findings. Consequently, she secured the journals within a data cube, including instructions for its use should it be discovered. Avon subsequently disappeared, leaving her research untouched. In her youth, Thea Starros, a descendant of Avon, found and unlocked the cube, revealing Avon's legacy. The data cube remained secure for an extended time until Phel Starros, an Imperial member of the Starros Clan, took them during a visit to the Starros family homestead. Sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Thea, Aryssha, and Mevera Starros conspired to reclaim the journals from the Empire. After the Empire taken Aryssha via her husband, the Imperial officer Captain Cerasus Ehllo, Sana Starros learned of the scheme from Mevera while escaping their ancestral home.
After they captured Ehllo's ship, the King's Ransom, and recovered the data cube, Sana examined the journals. Following this, she destroyed the data cube, much to the disappointment of Deva Lompop.
