During the time of the High Republic Era, a clash occurred within the Bright Jewel system, not far from Ord Mantell. This battle involved a Galactic Republic and Jedi Order squadron of starfighters against a band of Nihil pirates. These Nihil forces had been dispatched by Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro to serve as a distraction, an element of his scheme to ensnare the Jedi within the system. Consequently, the Nihil were handily beaten, a fact that aroused the misgivings of Jedi Grand Master Yoda.
