Battle of Dunari's Rest

The clash known as the Battle of Dunari's Rest unfolded between the forces of the Imperial Navy and the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the year 3 ABY. The conflict ignited when the Corrupter launched an assault on the space station named Dunari's Rest, with the objective of dislodging any Rebel operatives who might have sought refuge within its confines.

About

During 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance uncovered the existence of the Galactic Empire's newly built Death Star II, a formidable battle station with the capacity to obliterate entire starships and even planets. Promptly, they began gathering their troops and resources with the intention of destroying the station before it could become operational. However, they were in need of supplies to accomplish this mission, and with their own supply depots having been destroyed by the Empire, they sought assistance from Dunari, who was the head of a substantial trading enterprise. Dunari consented to aid the Rebels, as did his partners, the Hurrim. Regrettably, the Hurrim proved to be untrustworthy and, after attacking civilian and Alliance vessels, sided with the Empire. Dunari expelled the Hurrim from his trading company, but the Hurrim responded by summoning Imperial forces to attack Dunari's Rest, compelling the Rebels and Dunari to abandon the station.

Battle

Rebel forces from the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Liberty arrived, bringing with them a full complement of B-wing starfighters and T-65 X-wing starfighters to safeguard the civilian ships as they fled the casino. Upon their arrival, most of the casino's patrons had already been evacuated, but the remaining individuals came under attack from several squadrons of Star Wings. The Rebels, along with Dunari's security forces who were piloting Cloakshape Fighters, successfully repelled the attackers, and the casino employees prepared to abandon the station. Unfortunately, Admiral Garreth Holtz of the Imperial Navy arrived aboard the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Corrupter alongside the Strike-class medium cruiser Lament. Both vessels immediately launched their TIE/LN starfighters and TIE/sa bombers. The B-wings swiftly dealt with the Lament, but the Corrupter was rapidly approaching the station. The combined Rebel and Casino Security forces fought bravely, holding off successive waves of enemy fighters until Dunari's employees had evacuated the station. Dunari departed from the station aboard the Luxury Yacht Raw Deal alongside Emon Azzameen, who had recently been rescued by Dunari and his younger brother Ace in a previous encounter. Ace was among the pilots engaged in the battle, and they held off the remaining fighters until Dunari had cleared the battlefield. Subsequently, the Imperial Nebulon-B2 frigate Cerebus emerged from hyperspace to provide assistance in the battle, accompanied by TIE Avengers. However, by this point, the station had been completely evacuated, and the Rebels soon retreated back to the Liberty and the Separatist Cruiser. Dunari's forces also evacuated the area, leaving the casino under Imperial control.

Aftermath

The successful evacuation prevented the Alliance's trade agreement with Dunari from collapsing, ensuring that the Rebels would be prepared to attack the Death Star II during the Battle of Endor. The fate of the casino remains unknown, as it was captured intact, but no known attempt was made to retake it. Dunari vowed revenge against the Hurrim, who were responsible for orchestrating the Imperial ambush. The Rebels and Dunari's forces eventually destroyed the Hurrim's main base and shut down the group's operations before proceeding with their plans to attack the Death Star II. The Rebel Alliance also exacted retribution on the Empire, as Admiral Garreth Holtz and the Corrupter were destroyed along with the Hurrim.
