"BB-8 and the Jungle Adventure - Chapter 3" represents the third installment within the Star Wars Roll Out series of animated shorts. Its initial release occurred on YouTube on August 23, 2019.
The opening credits sequence showcases BB-8 and a Star Wars themed ball leading a group consisting of Rey, Maz Kanata, Finn, Captain Phasma, a pair of stormtroopers, Ben Solo, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and a trio of porgs.
While ensnared within the web of a spider-like creature along with a recently acquainted shape-shifter, BB-8 finds himself rescued by another member of the changeling species. Their celebration is cut short, as the arachnid returns to discover them liberated from its trap. The three attempt an escape, only to be forced into a corner. Luckily, BB-8 devises a clever plan to employ his welding torch to frighten the spider away. The plan succeeds, and BB-8's new friends, utilizing their morphing abilities, mimic the same tactic.
With the advantage shifted, the shape-shifters transform into additional BB units, and following BB-8's lead, they proceed to bind all eight of the predator's slender legs.
The group of droids, who were originally searching for BB-8 in the dense jungle of D'Qar where they had previously lost him, now discover that there are three of their circular companion, immobilizing the spider. They join in the effort, pulling on the creature's legs, which results in it being launched high into the air. There, the creature lands within the nest of long-necked birds, who proceed to peck at its weakened body.
Upon the meeting of BB-8's rescuers and his new changeling companions, the droids find the changelings somewhat frightening, causing them to flee homeward in terror.
