Bombardment of Bosph

In the year 3 BBY, the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy relentlessly and extensively bombarded the planet of Bosph from orbit. This resulted in effectively permanent damage and an attempted genocide against the native species.

Those who lived through the devastation were subjected to a continuous quarantine. As a reaction, they chose to dis-remember the Empire, a profound offense within their culture signifying a refusal to recognize the Empire's very existence. The historian Beaumont Kin documented the bombardment within his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, in the year 35 ABY.

Behind the scenes

Within current Star Wars canon, the Bosph bombardment is referenced in the 2024 reference work, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, authored by Dr. Chris Kempshall. The bombardment initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends timeline, with its first mention in "Smugglers of the Outer Rim," an article by Doug Shuler that was featured in the fifth issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal, released in February of 1995.
