Bosph

Bosph, a planet, was the site of repeated, extensive orbital bombardment by the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy. These attacks, intended to commit genocide against a sentient species living there, occurred in 3 BBY. The survivors of this species were subsequently subjected to a continuous quarantine, leading them to adopt the practice of dis-remembering the Empire, a profound insult within their culture signifying a refusal to acknowledge the state's existence. Decades later, in 35 ABY, historian Beaumont Kin referenced Bosph in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, noting that the damage inflicted by the bombardments remained, for all intents and purposes, irreparable.

Behind the scenes

Within current Star Wars canon, Bosph's mention occurs in the 2024 reference work, Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, authored by Dr. Chris Kempshall. The planet initially appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity. Its debut was in "Smugglers of the Outer Rim," a source article for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game penned by Doug Shuler and featured in the fifth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine, published in February of 1995.
