The Brentaal system, a star system located within the Bormea sector of the Core Worlds, was home to at least one planet, specifically the gas giant known as Cavas. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire launched an offensive into the Bormea sector, employing jamming vessels to create communication disruptions for the New Republic. To probe these disruptions at the border of the Brentaal System and restore communication channels, Commander Lindon Javes dispatched Vanguard Squadron.
The canon existence of the Brentaal System was initially established within the Star Wars universe through its appearance in the 2020 video game, Star Wars: Squadrons. Before this, the Brentaal system had already been featured in Star Wars Legends.
