Cavas, a planet classified as a beige gas giant, was situated in the Core Worlds' Bormea sector. During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire launched an intrusion into the Bormea sector, deploying jamming vessels to create communication disruptions for the New Republic. To probe these outages above Cavas and restore contact, Commander Lindon Javes dispatched Vanguard Squadron.

Within the Core Worlds' [Bormea sector](/article/bormea_sector], specifically in the Brentaal System, resided Cavas, a planet that was a gas giant. Its color was beige with light green streaks. Two moons, one exhibiting a blue hue and the other a red hue, orbited it.

Four years following the destruction of Alderaan, the Galactic Empire deployed IGV-55 jamming ships to Cavas, aiming to disrupt communications for the New Republic forces operating in the Bormea Sector. Concerned about a potential Imperial invasion, Commander Lindon Javes deployed Vanguard Squadron to investigate the communication failures and re-establish contact. After discovering the remnants of a destroyed New Republic reconnaissance vessel, Vanguard Squadron soon encountered the Imperial jamming vessels, protected by TIE/ln space superiority starfighters alongside an Arquitens-class command cruiser. Vanguard successfully eliminated the jamming ships, restoring communications, and requested reinforcements. Subsequently, two New Republic CR90 corvettes arrived, leading to the ultimate destruction of the remaining Imperial warships. Consequently, the Imperial incursion was repelled, and communication across the Bormea Sector was restored.
Cavas made its initial appearance in Star Wars canon within the 2020 video game, Star Wars: Squadrons, serving as the setting for one of the single-player campaign missions. The planet Cavas was initially referenced within Star Wars Legends through the 2003 sourcebook titled Coruscant and the Core Worlds.
