Bright Sun was a StarTripper space yacht manufactured by SoroSuub. In the year 43.5 ABY, the Sith apprentice known as Vestara Khai utilized this vessel, which she had previously named She's a Chancer, to make her escape from Luke and Ben Skywalker following her duel with Luke that took place on Sinkhole Station. Subsequently, she journeyed to Dathomir, where she sold the yacht to a being called Monarg in exchange for credits. These credits were used to transmit a holocommunication message to the Lost Tribe. Following this, she ventured into the jungles of Dathomir, where she came into contact with both the Nightsisters and the Raining Leaves Clan.
Following the events of the attack on Bright Sun Hill, Dyon Stadd laid claim to the ship, subsequently renaming it Bright Sun to honor the newly established Dathomiri clan. This clan was the result of a merger between the Broken Columns Clan and the Raining Leaves Clan. Stadd departed Dathomir aboard the Jade Shadow, but both vessels were then encircled by the Lost Tribe's fleet, which was under the command of Sarasu Taalon.
