Calo Nord's datapad

This datapad once belonged to Calo Nord, a bounty hunter active during both the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War. A record of Nord's kills was stored on the device. In 3956 BBY, the concluding year of the Jedi Civil War, Darth Malak, then the Dark Lord of the Sith, gave the order to destroy the planet Taris, hoping to eliminate Jedi Knight Bastila Shan. Shan had crash-landed on Taris in an escape pod after the Sith fleet ambushed and boarded her warship, the Endar Spire.

After Republic captain Carth Onasi and the amnesiac former Sith Lord Revan located and rescued Bastila Shan, the Mandalorian Canderous Ordo approached them. He proposed they steal the Ebon Hawk, the flagship belonging to Exchange crime lord Davik Kang, Ordo's employer. However, this was contingent on them infiltrating the Tarisian Sith base and obtaining the Sith's launch codes. Shan, Onasi, and Revan agreed, and, with the assistance of Kang's droid T3-M4, they successfully acquired the codes. Subsequently, Ordo led the group to Kang's estate.

Upon arrival, Revan, Ordo, Shan, and Onasi attempted to disable the security systems of the hangar. A trophy room displayed the preserved heads of creatures like rancors. While searching one of the footlockers in the room, Revan discovered Calo Nord's datapad. After obtaining the codes for the Ebon Hawk from the ship's former pilot Hudrow, who had been imprisoned and tortured for displeasing Kang, the group moved to unlock the hangar bay's security. Kang and Nord confronted them, attempting to kill them. However, as the Sith bombardment of the planet began, debris struck Nord, giving Shan, Revan, and their companions the opportunity to kill Kang and flee Taris before its complete destruction.

Nord survived the attack, escaping Taris. He then met with Darth Malak, informing him of Shan's escape due to Carth Onasi's efforts. He also revealed to Malak, along with Sith Admiral Saul Karath, that Revan, Malak's former Sith Master, was alive and serving as a Republic soldier. He accepted a contract from the Sith Empire, with Malak tasking him to capture Shan alive, but to eliminate her companions. Nord tracked down and confronted Revan, who had been retrained in the Jedi ways and tasked with locating the Star Forge—the ancient Rakatan space station producing ships for the Sith fleet. Revan and his allies ultimately killed the bounty hunter.

Behind the scenes

The Calo Nord datapad appeared as an item in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, released on Xbox and PC. Notably, it is the only datapad that can be sold for credits; all other datapads have a value of zero credits.
