Camp Sagol was an Imperial military installation. It was located on the planet of Krant, and its construction occurred following the Battle of Yavin in the year 0 ABY. During the Battle of Krant, the Imperial forces stationed at Camp Sagol posed a threat to the Krantian cities known as Peche and Theenes, while fighting against the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
The Imperial military base, Camp Sagol, was built on the planet Krant sometime in the period between 0.5 and 2 years following the Battle of Yavin. Its location was southwest of the city of Peche. The camp was enclosed by walls, with one side bordering a cliff. Inside, the base was equipped with a Command Center, three troop centers, a mech factory, eight Prefab shelters, a War Center, and a spaceport. ASP-7 labor droids were available for resource collection. Four power cores supplied energy to the base's structures. The entrance was defended by two laser turrets, and a network of additional laser turrets was positioned throughout the area. A garrison of stormtroopers was also stationed at the base.
After Leia Organa, a Rebel Alliance emissary, experienced a crash landing on the planet, a squad of stormtroopers from Camp Sagol launched an attack on a small Krantian village. However, they were cut down by Organa's escorts and Echuu Shen-Jon, an exiled Jedi. Camp Sagol, in conjunction with another Imperial camp, Kaxol, commenced their attacks on the Krantian cities of Peche and Theenes, specifically targeting the bridges that connected the cities. These attacks were carried out by a combined force of stormtroopers and dewback troopers from the two camps. Organa then assumed control of the small village and assembled an army with the goal of defeating Sagol and Kaxol, thereby neutralizing their capacity for warfare.
The video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released in 2001, featured Camp Sagol. The player's army is required to destroy one of the two camps, which forces the other to retreat. The game has not canonically specified which camp is destroyed, as the player has the option to attack and eliminate either one to complete the level. Because this choice is driven by game mechanics, this article maintains a neutral stance on the matter. While only one camp needs to be destroyed to finish the mission, the game's strategy guide, which was published prior to the game's release, suggests that players should target Kaxol, as it is closer to the Krantian cities.
