Cha Niathal's assistant

An aide filled the role of a personal assistant for the retired Admiral Cha Niathal of the Galactic Alliance around the time of 43 ABY. During that year, Natasi Daala, the Chief of State of the Alliance, dispatched an emissary, specifically Elyas Caran, to Mon Calamari. The purpose was to escort Niathal to Coruscant to face charges of dereliction of duty related to the events of the Second Galactic Civil War. Upon Caran's arrival, the aide proceeded to notify Niathal of Caran's presence, only to discover that the Mon Calamari had ended her own life through suicide.

Biography

Around 43 ABY, an assistant resided on the planet of Mon Calamari, serving Cha Niathal, a Mon Calamari. Following the end of the Second Galactic Civil War, Niathal, who had previously held the rank of Admiral in the Galactic Alliance during the conflict, retired to her homeworld of Mon Calamari. It was there that the assistant took on the role of Niathal's personal aide. Not long afterward, as public approval for Natasi Daala, the Alliance's Chief of State, waned, General Merratt Jaxton suggested that Daala put Niathal on trial for dereliction of duty. The aim was to demonstrate that the government was applying the same standards to military officers as they had applied to Luke Skywalker, who had been exiled for a similar transgression.

Daala's communications officer made contact with the assistant, who then connected them to Niathal. Daala then communicated her decision to Niathal, before dispatching an emissary, namely Elyas Caran, to escort the Mon Calamari to Coruscant for the proceedings. Upon arrival on the Mon Calamari's home planet, Caran was met by Niathal's assistant. The assistant proceeded to inform Niathal of Caran's presence, only to discover the former Admiral deceased inside her water tank. It was quickly determined that Niathal had diverted a carbon monoxide gas line into her tank, resulting in her suicide to avoid the shame of the trial. Subsequently, Caran transported Niathal to Coruscant for her funeral.
