Plot summary

Commander Kai and a Galactic Empire RA-7 protocol droid are waiting on his Imperial Star Destroyer for an Imperial shuttle carrying Zarro, a local girl, and Chewbacca, the Wookiee, who were captured by scout troopers. The scout commander sent the RA-7 droid to translate, but he's concerned because they've stopped communicating. Kai believes the Star Destroyer's structure is interfering with the antenna. However, he's proven wrong when a stormtrooper helmet falls out of the gangplank. Inside, Chewie and Zarro defeat the stormtroopers.

When they exit the gangplank, Chewie also destroys the RA-7 droid. Before the fight can get worse, Zarro speaks to the Imperial commander and says she's there to help the Empire. She tells Kai that Jaum is a scamming gangster and a rebel spy. Zarro says Jaum doesn't own an operation and his R5 repair droid, "Boomer," is full of explosives. Later, Jaum arrives with two stormtroopers carrying sample boxes. He plans to leave to settle debts. However, Zarro tells Jaum she told the Empire about his "scam". Soon after, the Imperial landing craft carrying the Andelm beetle larvae and Boomer explode. The explosion damages the ship's force-field.

Chewie and Zarro use the chaos to escape on a TIE/sa bomber. After some trouble, they launch the ship. However, Zarro accidentally releases a thermal detonator, damaging the bomber's right-wing. Despite the bombing catching fire on re-entry, Zarro and the Wookiee crash-land the craft. Soon after, they walk back to Chewie's RZ-1 A-wing interceptor. Chewie plans to leave Andelm IV for a special mission. Zarro is grateful to Chewbacca for saving her planet from the Empire, but she's sad he's leaving. She also sees Chewie is carrying a box. Before leaving, they hug, and Chewie gives her his gold medallion from the Battle of Yavin.

Back on the Star Destroyer, Commander Kai dismisses Jaum's mining deal as a scam. As punishment, Kai has Jaum tortured by his IT-O Interrogator. With the ship's hyperdrive damaged by the explosion, Kai tells him it will be a long trip back to the nearest Imperial base, and the interrogator droid will be his companion. Zarro steals Jaum's green landspeeder and tells her dad Arrax that the Empire took care of Jaum. When Arrax asks about her friend, she says Chewie had to leave for an important mission. This "mission" is a family reunion on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. There, Chewie gives his child a bandolier in front of his family. Soon after, Chewbacca is picked up by the Millennium Falcon.
