Chicken in the Pot

"Chicken in the Pot" is a musical piece crafted specifically for the Star Wars anthology movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, released in 2018. This duet showcases Huttese lyrics, essentially presenting a dialogue between two vocalists concerning their food preferences. The female vocalist consistently voices her appetite throughout the song, specifically mentioning edibles like hamburger, cucumber, Bolognese, and mayonnaise.

During the creation of the song, composer John Powell drew inspiration from initial conceptual artwork that portrayed the character Luleo Primoc as resembling a chicken. Louis Prima Jr., a musician, provided the temporary alto voice during the song's development. Within the in-universe narrative, the male singer is known as Luleo Primoc, a tuckerization derived from Prima's surname.

Initially, Prima's vocals were in a language that composer John Powell discovered online; however, a linguist translated the lyrics into another language, prompting Prima to re-record the song. In the movie's final version, another singer performed Primoc's part with a lower pitch, as requested by director Ron Howard. While the original soundtrack album of the film featured an alto voice for "Chicken in the Pot," the deluxe edition includes the lower-pitched rendition.

Baraka May lent her voice to the female character in "Chicken in the Pot," known as Aurodia Ventafoli within the fictional world, while Sema-Tawi Smart portrayed Ventafoli in the film itself.

Further elaborating on the concept of the chicken-like Luleo Primoc singing "Chicken in the Pot" in the fictional universe, author Adam Bray mentioned in the 2019 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition that Primoc also performed "Carve Your Name in My Heart" and "Your Love is Gravy." A further title, "Stuffed With Your Love," was not present in the published edition.
