Chancellor (Rebel Alliance)
The civilian head of the Alliance to Restore the Republic held the rank of Chancellor, alternatively referred to as Alliance Chief of State or Chief of State. Mon Mothma, previously a Senator representing Chandrila and a key founder of the Rebel Alliance, occupied this position during the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Endor, Mothma transitioned to become the Chancellor of the New Republic.
