Clieg Whitsun was a Human of the male variety, characterized by his blonde hair.
Whitsun, an acquaintance of Bail Antilles, was once found within an Alderaanian nightclub on Alderaan. Subsequently, after sustaining an injury, he relayed information to General Skywalker on Aquilae. He warned Skywalker that the New Galactic Empire was approaching, bringing with them a giant space fortress.
Being sufficiently recovered, Whitsun joined Luke Skywalker, Annikin Starkiller, Leia, and a pair of droids on a journey to Gordon. There, he played a role in establishing contact with the resistance and commandeering an Imperial starship.
During their escape from the Empire's hunter destroyers above Yavin, the starship suffered critical damage. Unable to reach a life pod in time, Clieg perished in the resulting explosion after the remaining crew had successfully evacuated.
The character ultimately transformed into Cliegg Lars. The surname Whitsun was later adopted by Beru Whitesun Lars, whose spouse, Owen Lars, was Cliegg's offspring. In the initial script version, Clieg is identified by the surname Oxus, otherwise remaining unchanged. This particular name was then repurposed in a different manner in the third iteration of the script.
