"Coda" is a brief comic book that acts as an afterword to Darth Vader (2015) 25, and it was authored by Kieron Gillen, the writer of Star Wars: Darth Vader, and illustrated by Max Fiumara. The storyline of Coda runs parallel to and extends from the events of Darth Vader (2015) 1.
After the Assault on Cymoon, Darth Vader journeys to Tatooine where the Sith Lord decimates an entire settlement of Tusken Raiders. One survivor finds refuge in the desert dunes until darkness falls. He then constructs a fire using gathered branches.
As night progresses, another Tusken Raider group riding banthas finds him. He guides this clan to the ruins of his village and shares his experiences with the Tusken clan's shaman. The shaman then relays the account of how the other Tusken village was brutally attacked by a warrior wielding a lightsaber, a warrior who drew strength from one of Tatooine's suns. He characterizes the attacker as a warrior clad in black armor and brandishing a red lightsaber.
This tale instills fear within the Tusken clan, prompting them to bury the remnants of the destroyed village. They proceed to collect wood and other materials to construct a massive "wicker man" that resembles Darth Vader. The luckless survivor is bound to this "wicker man," which is then ignited as the remaining Tuskens offer reverence to the Darth Vader effigy.
