Coral City was the planet Mon Cala's [capital](/article/capital] city, constructed atop a coral reef, and governed by the Mon Calamari monarch. The Battle of Mon Cala took place there during the Clone Wars.
The skyscrapers within the city were deliberately crafted to mirror the design of Mon Calamari Star Cruisers. Dave Filoni clarified, while responding to inquiries from fans, that the city on Mon Cala was initially intended to be called "Dac city" within the script, but this was altered to Mon Cala city. The name Dac City eventually surfaced in the thirteenth issue of the 2017 Star Wars: Darth Vader comic book series.
