The Coruscant Museum was situated within Imperial City on the planet of Coruscant, which is located in the Core Worlds. Tase Somer, a male individual, held the position of Head Curator at the museum sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY. Lady Domina Tagge of the Tagge Corporation tasked the unconventional archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra and the smuggler Sana Starros with acquiring an artifact related to the Ascendant cult. Consequently, they journeyed to Somer's residence on Coruscant. Upon their arrival, Starros inquired of Aphra whether she was confident that her contact possessed knowledge of Ascendant artifacts. The archaeologist then informed the smuggler that Somer utilized the black market to enrich the museum's holdings, implying that he either possessed the desired artifact or knew someone who did.
Within current Star Wars canon, the Coruscant Museum appears in Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, specifically the sixteenth issue of the 2020 comic series. This issue, penned by Alyssa Wong, was released by Marvel Comics on November 17, 2021. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Cracken's Threat Dossier, a supplement published in 1997 for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games, makes reference to the Coruscant Museum.
