Domina Tagge

Domina Tagge, a female human, belonged to the notable Tagge family and was the leader of the Tagge Corporation. Holding the title of Lady, she conducted her operations from the starship [Acquisitor](/article/acquisitor], situated within Tagge Space. As the aunt of Ronen Tagge, she frequently indulged him, granting his every desire. Domina was related to Adelaide Tagge as her cousin, and she was the sister of Ulric Tagge, Orman Tagge, and Silas Tagge.

When Ronen attempted to secure the fabled and potent artifacts known as the Rings of Vaale, Doctor Chelli Aphra, a rogue archaeologist who had previously tried to obtain the Rings, demolished his penthouse, almost killing him. Following this near-fatal incident involving her nephew, Tagge issued a bounty for Aphra's capture. The sniper Just Lucky and the bounty hunter Kharrek apprehended the archaeologist and brought her to the Acquisitor. There, Tagge instructed Aphra to undertake a mission: infiltrate De'Rruyet Industries, a rival company whose leader, Beol De'Rruyet, claimed to possess a Nihil Path engine. This engine supposedly offered a groundbreaking method of lightspeed travel, which could potentially bankrupt the Tagge family.

In 3 ABY, Silas employed Boushh, an Ubese bounty hunter, to assassinate other members of the Tagge Corporation's Board, with the aim of wresting control from Domina. After a confrontation between Domina, armed with a Tagge protoblade, and Boushh's crew, Domina killed Silas on the Acquisitor.

Biography

Early life

During the age of the Galactic Empire, Domina Tagge, a female human, was a member of the influential Tagge dynasty. She had at least three elder brothers: Ulric Tagge, Orman Tagge, and Silas Tagge. Domina's cousin was Adelaide Tagge. Having survived a minimum of two assassination attempts during her childhood, Domina resolved to never be a "pawn" again. Instead, she chose to view herself as a player who was destined to win "the game."

She had a nephew, Ronen Tagge, whom Domina spoiled, frequently giving him anything he desired.

Eventually, Domina ascended to the leadership position within the Tagge Corporation. From Tagge Space, a region of the galaxy governed by her family, Domina commanded the company's flagship, the Acquisitor. Domina asserted that under her guidance, TaggeCo had become stronger and more influential than ever before.

Silas' coup

Silas, Domina's brother, desired her position, believing himself to be a genius who was not adequately recognized. In 3 ABY, Silas hired a band of exiled Ubese bounty hunters, headed by Boushh, to assassinate the remaining members of TaggeCo's Executive Board in an attempt to seize power through this coup. A skirmish then broke out between the mercenaries and members of the Tagge Corporation.

Domina fought against numerous attackers using the Tagge protoblade, defeating a number of them. In the end, one of the bounty hunters targeted Silas, who inadvertently revealed his treachery by declaring that he had hired the mercenaries to carry out the attack. Domina then appeared, attacking both Silas and the Ubese who had confronted him. Domina felt justified by Silas' confession, but did not believe it was necessary for her to act against him. Domina's Honor Guard eventually arrived, putting an end to the hostilities. Before making a deal with Boushh's crew and killing Silas with the unpowered protoblade, Domina had the majority of the personnel evacuated from the Acquisitor.

Mutually beneficial arrangements

Domina Tagge summoned Doctor Chelli Aphra to the Acquisitor regarding an attempted theft on Milvayne. She informed the archeologist that pirates had attempted to steal a prototype Tagge battle droid from a warehouse as to sell the droid on Nar Shaddaa, but the pirates and buyer were killed by the droid. Aphra observed that the droid's power cells were missing, which Tagge confirmed, a situation that should have been outright impossible. Tagge agreed and tasked the doctor with investigating a second warehouse of the droids on Havel Prime. Aphra initially refused given the risks, but quickly accepted when Tagge offered her danger pay.

Tagge then led the doctor to her personal chambers and began to disrobe. The executive then informed Aphra that she had rules and boundaries, things she needed the archeologist to abide by before they could proceed. Aphra readily agreed, citing authority and danger as two of her favorite things, inquiring if they could continue "agreeing" in bed. Tagge stated that optimization was "everything," throwing Aphra down and into the covers before shedding her dress, conceding that iteration was also important. Aphra and Tagge kissed and proceeded to make love.

The next day, Tagge attended a meeting where she secured the right to Keptik and its moons. Aphra woke three hours later to Tagge working on her computer, surprised that the other woman was already awake. When the archeologist tried to raise a conversation about the events of the night prior, Tagge reiterated that her terms were extremely clear and that she was not interested in committing to a relationship before dismissing Aphra.

Personality and traits

Domina Tagge

Domina Tagge maintained a cynical perspective on her Tagge family, referring to them as a "nest of vipers" to her secretary Lapin Tagge. She possessed a Machiavellian sense of morality, demonstrated by her strong desire for power and her comment to Silas that his only transgression was "being caught" as she killed him. Domina was willing to transform former adversaries into valuable assets. She immediately hired the bounty hunters from Boushh's crew for her own purposes after they attempted to assassinate her and other members of her family at Silas Tagge's request.

Equipment

Domina wielding the Tagge protoblade

Domina Tagge exhibited a high level of skill with the Tagge protoblade in combat, both during testing against her honor guard and later against the bounty hunters from Boushh's crew. She employed the weapon to cut through walls and destroy the weapons of her enemies.

Even after the protoblade's power supply failed, Domina continued to use the weapon, which then functioned as a conventional melee weapon. After evacuating the Acquisitor and remaining on board only with Silas, her honor guard, and the bounty hunters Silas had hired, Domina used the broken Tagge protoblade to kill her treacherous brother.
