This confrontation involved Kay Vess' crew and the criminal organization Zerek Besh, occurring as Vess' crew made their getaway from the Canto sewers after their successful robbery of Westhill Palace.
Years later, in 34 ABY, during their quest to locate Master Codebreaker, an associate of Maz Kanata, Finn, Rose Tico, and BB-8 traveled to the Canto Casino at Canto Bight. Their mission was to aid the Resistance in evading the grasp of the First Order. The casino was positioned in close proximity to the Canto Bight racetrack, allowing them to observe a fathier race. Despite their efforts, they were subdued by stun blasts from the Canto Bight Police Department and subsequently taken to the Canto Bight police headquarters. However, with the assistance of DJ and BB-8, Finn and Rose were able to break free from imprisonment and make their way to the racetrack.
