Crimpler, a Lorellian kickboxer with an unblemished record, found himself conscripted into the Hapan Royal Navy amidst the turmoil of the Yuuzhan Vong War. His perfect streak ended with a loss at the Battle of Fondor, prompting him to abandon his post and embrace a life of pirate activity. In an attempt to abduct the Hapan Jedi Knight Tenel Ka, Crimpler faced defeat in hand-to-hand combat and was subsequently incarcerated by the Hapan military. A Ni'Korish sentry facilitated his breakout from the prison, resulting in the death of Trisdin Gheer. However, his recollections had been wiped by Jaina Solo following the removal of a Yuuzhan Vong implant from his neck by the scientist Sinsor Khal.
