Crseih Station

Crseih Station, also going by the names Asylum Station and Crseih Research Station, functioned as a prison asteroid for the Galactic Empire in the Outer Rim. This asteroid installation was operated by Procurator of Justice Hethrir, who utilized it as a research hub. Here, he conducted experiments that pushed the boundaries of realspace, hyperspace, and otherspace.

Construction

The design of Crseih Station incorporated docking tubes and living domes, all arranged like an elaborate and ostentatious bazaar, and possessed the capability to jump to hyperspace. Its substantial size allowed for the inclusion of several hotels, one of which was Crater Lodge, which featured artificial streams and pools designed to mimic a terrestrial environment. Following the Battle of Hoth which occurred in 3 ABY, Crseih Station was relocated to the Crseih system. Here, it orbited both a black hole and a crystallizing white dwarf star. The combined effects of disturbances in the Force caused by the crystallizing star and Hethrir's torturing of prisoners resulted in the arrival of a strange alien entity, Waru, from an alternate dimension. Waru was characterized by a blob-like form covered in golden scales, which, when exposed, revealed raw, oozing flesh.

History

Waru, a mysterious healer on Crseih Station

Hethrir and Waru struck a bargain: Hethrir would assist Waru in returning to his own dimension in exchange for Waru's help in achieving complete mastery over the Force. Hethrir began to sacrifice selected prisoners to Waru to fulfill this agreement.

Waru possessed the ability to heal individuals by providing them with Force energy obtained from previous victims. However, to replenish this energy, he was compelled to kill others. The realization that Waru could heal by absorbing people into himself led to the formation of a cult. Waru manipulated events to make the failures of some healings appear as either accidental or due to the individual's lack of faith in him.

Consequently, as Crseih Station evolved into a free trading hub and a slave market, religious devotees flocked to Crseih in search of healing at the Altar of Waru. These events eventually drew the attention of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who, along with Han Solo and C-3PO, set out to investigate Crseih. Later, Hethrir abducted the Force-sensitive children of New Republic Chief of State Leia Organa Solo and planned to sacrifice Anakin Solo, the youngest but most powerful in the Force, to Waru in exchange for his assistance.

However, their scheme was thwarted by Leia, Luke, Han Solo, and Hethrir's former partner, Rillao. With Anakin Solo rescued, Waru abandoned his hopes of creating a portal back to his own galaxy. Instead, he pulled Hethrir into his energy field and disappeared. Simultaneously, the white dwarf star had completed its transition into an unstable quantum crystal. It was also being pulled in by the gravity of the nearby black hole. The star's fragmentation was imminent, estimated to occur in less than three standard hours, and the resulting explosion threatened to obliterate everything in its vicinity.

Crseih Station's hyperdrive was rapidly activated, and the station executed a quick jump into hyperspace as the crystal star detonated into countless quantum fragments, eliminating any possibility of recreating the conditions that had allowed Waru to enter the galaxy. Upon Crseih Station's arrival at Munto Codru, its passengers were taken into custody by New Republic Intelligence for questioning regarding their involvement in the slave trade. The enslaved individuals aboard were liberated and returned to their respective homeworlds. However, the bazaar remained operational. Following a complaint from Codru-Ji Chamberlain Iyon of Munto Codru to sector authorities, Crseih Station was relocated to orbit Pakuuni, a nearby planet.
