In the year 382 BBY, while he was investigating the death of the Sarravi named V'Kara, the Sephi thief Tey Sirrek was discovered by Kiffar Jedi Master Vildar Mac standing near the Sarravi's dead body. Mac had been pursuing Sirrek after witnessing him stealing from a Bpfasshi Truthsayer. Assuming Sirrek was responsible for V'Kara's demise, Mac engaged him, attempting to strike him down using his lightsaber. After Sirrek successfully avoided all of Mac's attacks, the irritated Jedi inquired about his means of doing so.

Subsequently, Sirrek asserted his mastery over several Force abilities, among them the Cry of the Broken King, Vitali, and Morichro. Mac brushed this off as absurd, claiming Morichro was merely a fable. The Sephi then utilized biological pheromones that his forebears had created for defense against predators, briefly incapacitating Mac, while simultaneously declaring he was employing Morichro against the Jedi.
