The CSS-1 Corellian Star Shuttle, also known as the CSS-1 shuttle or the Republic shuttle, served as a transport vehicle for the Galactic Republic for at least ten years before the Clone Wars began.
Designed and built by the Corellian Engineering Corporation for the Galactic Republic, the CSS-1 Corellian Star Shuttle was a transport craft. Capable of carrying 200 VIP passengers, it featured a large meeting room and comfortable living spaces. The vessel's supplies could last for three years, and it boasted an unusually powerful deflector shield generator. Measuring 80 meters in length, it could achieve speeds of 800 kilometer per hour. Equipped with a class 1.5 hyperdrive and lacking any weaponry, it compensated with a heavily reinforced hull.
Following the Battle of Naboo, the CSS-1 Corellian Star Shuttle named Perpetuus transported members of the Jedi Order and the newly appointed Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to Naboo.
Development of the CSS-1's successor, the CCS-8, was halted indefinitely due to the outbreak of the pan-galactic Clone Wars.
During the Clone Wars, the CSS-1 was utilized by the Republic Military for large-scale transportation purposes.
During the rule of the Galactic Empire, which succeeded the Republic, the Alliance to Restore the Republic employed CSS-1s to move their forces.
The New Republic operated a similar vessel, but with only two engines instead of three. Ambassador Nadura used this transport to travel to Calodan, where it was subsequently destroyed by the Scout guards.
After the Empire's collapse and the establishment of the New Republic, Sidon Ithano and his crew utilized a modified CSS-1, known as the Meson Martinet, for their [pirate](/article/pirate] activities.
