The Culu Memorial Center, a Jedi academy situated on Alpheridies, was founded sometime after the conclusion of the Great Sith War.
During the period of the Great Sith War, the Mandalorian Crusaders mounted an attack and successfully seized control of the planet of Alpheridies. The Galactic Republic eventually managed to expel the Mandalorians from the world, leading the Jedi Order to establish the Culu Memorial Center there, with the purpose of training the Force-sensitive local population. It is believed that the center was named in honor of Shoaneb Culu, a Miraluka Jedi who was killed during the Great Sith War, and who had previously expressed a desire to create a Jedi Academy on her homeworld.
Several Jedi from this era originated from Alpheridies, including Jedi Masters Q'Anilia and Noab Hulis. However, despite the Jedi presence, the planet fell under the control of the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War and remained in disputed space until the Sith were defeated in the New Sith Wars. After the Ruusan Reformation, the academy gained recognition for its in-depth studies of the Force, offering hope to those aspiring to become Jedi Seer.
According to notes made by Darth Sidious in his pilfered edition of The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, the academy on Alpheridies was among the many that he destroyed during the Great Jedi Purge. He noted that the book itself revealed the academy's supposedly secret location, which saved the Galactic Empire valuable time in their pursuit of the Jedi.
