Situated within the Outer Rim Territories, and skirting the border of Hutt Space, the planet Cyrkon was a toxic world. Following the Battle of Yavin, Alliance to Restore the Republic Lieutenant Caluan Ematt sought refuge on Cyrkon, using it as a hideout after he managed to escape a Galactic Empire ambush on Taanab.
Cyrkon was infamous as a haven for both pirates and smugglers. The world hosted approximately six cities, spread across its surface. Motok, the capital, featured a landing bay integrated into one of the largest structures on the city's outskirts. The local governing body was as morally bankrupt as the Imperial authorities; with sufficient money, nearly any favor or item could be obtained through bribery or purchase. While a legitimate economy existed on the planet, the true commerce thrived within the black market, involving the trade of goods, weaponry, spice, and occasionally even slaves. Essentially, anything of value could be traded within Cyrkon's urban centers.
In the distant past, prior to the decline of the Republic, Cyrkon was initially a near-utopian world upon its initial colonization, ideally situated within its star's habitable zone. Over time, however, the atmosphere became saturated with poisonous substances due to industrial and commercial activities. This led to a dramatic rise in temperature, causing the surface to overheat and triggering an uncontrolled greenhouse effect. Consequently, the inhabitants were forced to reside within domed cities equipped with regulated atmosphere and temperature control systems. These urban centers subsequently suffered from overpopulation and inadequate resources.
Despite the book Smuggler's Run: A Han Solo & Chewbacca Adventure asserting that the planet lies within Hutt Space, the map of the galaxy briefly glimpsed in Star Wars: Timelines positions Cyrkon just outside of Hutt Space.
