A Human male pilot by the name of Darnell Reggs flew a BTL Y-wing starfighter for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War, serving under the command of Admiral Krane. In 3 ABY, Reggs, together with Krane, provided an escort for Rebel pilot Rookie One as he journeyed to the planet Imdaar. Their mission: to seize a TIE Phantom starfighter from the Executor-class Star Dreadnought known as the Terror. During this operation, they successfully annihilated a squadron of TIE/IN interceptors, thus guaranteeing Rookie One's safe passage.
Born a Human male in the waning years of the Galactic Republic, Darnell Reggs went on to become a pilot of a BTL Y-wing starfighter within the ranks of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during their war against the Galactic Empire. He served under the leadership of Admiral Krane, a stern officer who firmly believed that only a highly disciplined fighting force could defeat the Empire, and who granted his subordinates very little latitude.
Following the Battle of Hoth which occurred in 3 ABY, by which time Reggs was nearing thirty years old, the Rebel YT-1300 light freighter named Corellia Star was retrieved by Rebel pilot Rookie One after its capture by Imperial forces. Mission recordings recovered from the ship revealed that the captain of the Corellia Star had discovered the Empire was refining oridium ore at a facility situated within the Belt of Arah. This oridium was intended to fuel a new weapon that the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, planned to use to obliterate the Alliance. Reggs was among the pilots present at a briefing conducted by Admiral Gial Ackbar aboard a Nebulon-B escort frigate belonging to the Alliance Fleet. During this briefing, the admiral issued orders to search the Belt of Arah and destroy the mining facility's production capabilities.

Fighters from Rascal Squadron ultimately destroyed the Arah mining facility, uncovering the fact that the Empire's new weapon was a series of modified V38 assault fighters equipped with cloaking devices, rendering them practically invisible. Shortly thereafter, Reggs attended another briefing led by Ackbar. Intelligence reports indicated heightened Imperial Navy activity near the planet of Imdaar, located in the Dantus sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Furthermore, the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Terror was en route to deploy an entire wing of the novel TIE Phantoms. Rookie One volunteered to infiltrate the Terror and abscond with one of these new fighters for study, hoping to discover a way to counteract them.
Reggs and Krane were tasked with escorting Rookie One to Imdaar, forming a three-ship flight group of Y-wings. En route, they encountered more than a dozen Imperial TIE/IN interceptors. Despite facing overwhelming odds, the three Rebels managed to eliminate all the Imperial fighters before Reggs and Krane peeled away, leaving Rookie One to continue alone to Ceti 597 and the final approach to Imdaar.
Reggs was a skilled Y-wing pilot who served under the strict command of Admiral Krane. He understood Krane's approach and respected his military capabilities, but, while he followed the admiral's orders without question, he did not hold him in particularly high personal regard. Reggs enjoyed a friendly relationship with Rookie One before their mission to Imdaar.
Darnell Reggs was a character created for the 1995 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire. He appears in three cutscenes and the game's eighth mission, "Flight to Imdaar." Actor Carl Magruder played the character in the game.

Storyboards and scripts from Rebel Assault II designer Vincent Lee, dated November 16, 1994, included a brief character description of Reggs. Although it didn't make it into the game or its manual, the biography was adapted for use on the LucasArts website. The document was later printed in Rob Smith's book, Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts. Lee also noted the actors he felt embodied each character, choosing Denzel Washington to represent Reggs.
Props and costumes from the original trilogy of Star Wars films were used during the production of Rebel Assault II. The flight helmet worn by Reggs shares the same design as the blast shield helmet worn by Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Dorovio Bold's helmet in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
