Encryption used by death troopers was a language employed by the Galactic Empire's most skilled death troopers. These troopers utilized voice-scramblers integrated within their helmets to speak this language. This enabled secure communication, preventing eavesdropping and simultaneously projecting a more fearsome presence.
During the recovery mission to retrieve the scientist Galen Erso on the planet Lah'mu, the death trooper squad accompanying Director Orson Krennic used the encryption as they advanced toward the Erso homestead. Furthermore, a detachment of death troopers also communicated through the encryption on Nevarro, during the flanking of former rebel Cara Dune in the cantina.
The death trooper encryption was initially featured in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, part of the Anthology Series. Its identification occurred in the "Every Language in Star Wars" video, published on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel in 2019.
