Dee-Twelve

Dee-Twelve was a droid that belonged to the family of Jerlyn. Jerlyn was a resident of the village of Peka, located on the world of Batuu. In the year 379 BBY, while Dee-Twelve was operating on the family's farm during the night, a salmaca that was attacking Peka captured him and took him back to its nest. The following day, Rooper Nitani, a Jedi Padawan, arrived in Peka. After speaking with Jerlyn, she accepted the task of retrieving Dee-Twelve. She journeyed to the salmaca's cave, successfully rescued Dee-Twelve, and returned him to Jerlyn.

Biography

Dee-Twelve was a droid that the family of Jerlyn owned. Jerlyn lived in the village of Peka on the world of Batuu. One night, around 379 BBY, Jerlyn neglected to secure his family's farm while Dee-Twelve was working in a field. This allowed a salmaca that was in the process of raiding Peka to abduct Dee-Twelve and carry him back to its nest.

Dee-Twelve was rescued by Padawan Rooper Nitani (pictured).

The following day, Rooper Nitani, a Jedi Padawan, made her way to Peka as part of her Jedi Trials. She then spoke with Jerlyn, who recounted the story of the salmaca that had been raiding Peka and its abduction of Dee-Twelve. Jerlyn took responsibility for Dee-Twelve's capture. He was distressed both because his family lacked the financial resources to acquire a replacement droid to carry out the vital tasks Dee-Twelve performed on the farm and because he regarded Dee-Twelve as a member of his family. Upon hearing this, Nitani committed to recovering Dee-Twelve from the salmaca's cave, and Jerlyn furnished her with a description of the droid.

After entering the cave and locating the salmaca's nest, Nitani discovered Dee-Twelve beneath the sleeping salmaca's paw, buried within a collection of electrical components. She used the Force to influence the salmaca to roll over, and then nudged the droid to free him. After placing him on the ground, a sequence of diodes on Dee-Twelve's outer shell blinked in a complex pattern, which Nitani interpreted as either excitement or gratitude. Nitani then instructed P3-7A, a church droid who was accompanying her, to guide Dee-Twelve out of the cave while she searched for a shield that belonged to her Master. She had been tasked with finding it to complete her Jedi Trials. After Nitani located the shield and exited the cave, she found the two droids with Jerlyn, who expressed his gratitude for her recovery of Dee-Twelve.
