Biography

Dee Tails as Cratinus

Born in London, England on December 6, 1976, Dee Tails first found success in the music industry before transitioning to acting.

Tails played Cratinus in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens in 2015. Initially, he was slated to portray one of the Hassk triplets, however, those parts were ultimately given to other performers. Neal Scanlan, who oversaw creature effects for the film, then reassigned Tails to the role of Cratinus, the brother of Prashee. During the filming process, Tails and Tom Bell, the actor playing Prashee, remained seated at their designated table to maintain background continuity throughout the various shooting sessions.

Because of his work portraying Cratinus, Neal Scanlan advocated for Tails' skill, securing him the role of the droid K-OHN in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016. He adapted to the ever-changing masks by improvising with his fellow actors on set, despite the repeated alterations to his costume. Tails physically embodied the character Slowen Lo in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi in 2017, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt providing the voice. Tails was then chosen to play Quay Tolsite in Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018.
