Derelict Hangar

The Derelict Hangar, alternatively called the Landing Pad, was a hangar utilized by the Galactic Empire that was situated on the planet Zeffo. Its location placed it in proximity to both the Ice Caves and the Abandoned Village. During a mission to Zeffo, which formed a part of their mission aimed at re-establishing the Jedi Order, Cere Junda and Cal Kestis made their way to the hangar aboard the Stinger Mantis, with Greez Dritus acting as the pilot.

History

The Empire's arrival on Zeffo and the commencement of Project Auger in 14 BBY led to the Derelict Hangar being restricted to Imperial personnel only, enforced through Imperial Code 94364. This code also prohibited any commercial activities, including trade or sales, at the Derelict Hangar.

Behind the scenes

Respawn Entertainment developed the Derelict Hangar for the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which Electronic Arts published on November 15, 2019. The location's initial unveiling occurred during the Xbox E3 Briefing for the game on June 10, 2019. Bruno Werneck and Jean-Francois Rey were the artists who created the hangar's concept art. The location, like the rest of the game, draws significant inspiration from 3D Metroidvania type design—a subgenre of action-adventure characterized by expansive, interconnected maps with paths that become accessible as the player progresses. Notably, the hangar was the very first area developed for the game. In The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reference book, the Derelict Hangar was identified by the name "Landing Pad."
