Destruction of the Ledeve Jedi Temple

During the age of the Clone Wars, the Separatist General Grievous commanded that a Jedi Temple located on Ledeve be obliterated. Subsequent to killing both a Jedi and the Jedi's Padawan, Grievous stumbled upon the aforementioned temple and sought to seize its hidden knowledge. After his experiences within the temple, where mocking voices assailed him regarding his current state and perceived insignificance, Grievous gave the order for a Providence-class Dreadnought to level the temple. In the wake of the temple's annihilation, Grievous remarked that despite all the talk of power, the entities within burned with ease. Nevertheless, as the General departed, a luminous object emerged from the ruins of the temple.

Behind the scenes

The reference work titled Star Wars: Timelines firmly places the destruction of the Jedi Temple on Ledeve in the year 20 BBY. It establishes its chronological positioning between the events of the Battle of Umbara and the conquest of Kiros. On the other hand, the 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy later stated that this mission took place prior to the skirmish on Naboo. This would contradict the placement of the skirmish as a battle occurring before Umbara, as presented in Timelines. Given that Timelines is specifically crafted to establish the chronology of the Star Wars universe, this article operates under the assumption that Star Wars Encyclopedia contains an inaccuracy regarding this detail.
