Devono Vix was a Gossam arms dealer who associated with the Hutt Clan, conducting his business in the Arms Market located on the Smuggler's Moon of Nar Shaddaa. The bounty hunter known as Dengar developed a relationship with Vix over several years, ultimately earning his trust, and the dealer became a source of intelligence for him. At one juncture, Vix commenced transactions with the once-dormant criminal organization Crimson Dawn; their leader, Qi'ra, placed substantial orders for blasters, detonators, and other, more specialized weaponry.
During 3 ABY, Dengar, accompanied by fellow bounty hunter Beilert Valance, traveled to Nar Shaddaa in pursuit of the bounty hunter Boba Fett. They believed Fett possessed the carbonite-encased form of smuggler Han Solo. As the pair navigated the Arms Market, Dengar proposed consulting Vix for insights into Fett's whereabouts and the reason Jabba the Hutt had placed a bounty on him. Upon locating Vix, Valance physically assaulted the arms dealer, demanding information on Fett's location. In response, Vix ordered his associates to attack Valance and Dengar, using the distraction to flee into Oruba Square.
Eventually, Valance and Dengar managed to corner Vix, interrogating him while Valance dangled him from a rooftop's edge. The arms dealer admitted to his dealings with Crimson Dawn, stating they had resurfaced and seized the carbonite from Fett, a claim Valance dismissed. As Vix continued to speak, the Crimson Dawn assassin Deathstick observed silently from afar. Valance released Vix, who then explained Jabba's motive for the bounty on Fett: Jabba suspected Fett of betraying him by selling Solo to another party. Valance remained skeptical of Vix's information about Crimson Dawn, regarding it as mere ghost stories. Vix insisted on their reality, adding that if the Dawn's leader discovered he had spoken to them, he would be killed. Before he could finish his sentence, Vix was decapitated by Deathstick. Following Vix's death, Dengar began to find his claims about Crimson Dawn more credible, and the two bounty hunters sought cover from the assassin who had just murdered Vix.
