Diric Wessiri, a male human, was joined in matrimony with Iella Wessiri. Having fled from Corellia, he and his spouse established a life on Coruscant. In the year 6 ABY, the Galactic Empire apprehended him, dispatching him to the Lusankya penal facility, where he underwent brainwashing, transforming him into one of Ysanne Isard's sleeper operatives. When the New Republic seized Coruscant in 7 ABY, Wessiri was identified as a member of a collective of captives collaborating with General Evir Derricote in the creation of the Krytos virus. Wessiri was subsequently reunited with his wife, who had presumed him deceased for a year. Isard triggered Wessiri's conditioning when the Director of Imperial Intelligence surmised that Derricote had broken free from the Lusankya and was en route to testify in a legal proceeding against Tycho Celchu. Wessiri was compelled to direct fire toward his wife, Nawara Ven, and Kirtan Loor, whom Wessiri mistook for Derricote. Iella retaliated with gunfire, inflicting a fatal wound upon Wessiri, only then realizing it was her husband. Wessiri expired in her embrace, confessing that he had been a brainwashed agent of Isard, his mind fractured within the Lusankya prison.

Diric Wessiri hailed from a distinguished and affluent Corellian lineage. His privileged background afforded him a life of leisure, enabling him to dedicate his time to the study of individuals and diverse life phenomena. He entered into matrimony with Iella, who was more than two decades his junior, yet despite their age disparity, their relationship was remarkably stable and affectionate. Wessiri provided a secure and comforting environment for his wife, who often had to engage in perilous undercover operations for CorSec.
Wessiri frequently showed interest in the cases that his wife investigated within CorSec alongside her partner, Corran Horn. Even when he disagreed with the actions taken by the Security Force, he invariably sought to comprehend the underlying rationale behind them. He endeavored to engage with individuals who fascinated him and to gain deeper insights into their character. This inclination occasionally irritated Iella, as it sometimes led Wessiri to interfere with the cases she and Horn were handling.
When Imperial Intelligence liaison agent, Kirtan Loor, threatened to accuse Iella, Horn, and their superior officer in CorSec, Gil Bastra, of aiding the rebels, Wessiri was among the circle of friends Bastra aimed to protect. Bastra concocted a series of false identities for himself, Horn, Iella, and Wessiri, intended for use should Loor compel them to flee Corellia. When Loor initiated his actions against Horn, Wessiri and his wife sought refuge on Coruscant, assuming the new identities Bastra had created for them.

In 6 ABY, Imperial authorities apprehended Wessiri during a standard security sweep. They successfully uncovered his fabricated identity, revealing his true self. Consequently, he was dispatched to the Lusankya prison, where he underwent brainwashing and was ultimately broken.
Six months later, he was reassigned to work in the laboratory responsible for creating the Krytos virus. He served as one of the human slave laborers under the direction of General Evir Derricote. Following the Imperials' raid on an Alien Combine meeting place, Wessiri was present with Derricote when he was selecting Sullustans for his experiments involving the virus.
Following the New Republic's conquest of Coruscant, they discovered that it had been contaminated with the deadly Krytos virus. They located the laboratory used in its creation and found Diric Wessiri among the enslaved laborers employed there. General Airen Cracken conducted a debriefing of Wessiri and placed him in quarantine before arranging for him to meet his wife.
While Wessiri was recuperating from the lasting effects of his imprisonment, he became aware of the case against Tycho Celchu. He found the case intriguing and engaged in numerous conversations with Celchu during his trial, ultimately concluding that the Captain was innocent. Prosecutor, Commander Halla Ettyk, arranged for Wessiri to receive a special visitor's parking pass, enabling him to access a secure hangar when Wessiri was healthy enough to accompany his wife to the court. On his initial visit, he was present when Wedge Antilles, commander of Rogue Squadron, delivered his testimony in the case. Wessiri encountered Antilles outside the courtroom after the testimony and deterred holojournalist, Zaree Lolvanci, from approaching the Commander, who was disappointed by his inability to guarantee Celchu's release. Wessiri offered to escort Antilles elsewhere, but Antilles responded that Iella needed Wessiri more than he did, as Iella's friend Winter was scheduled to be the next witness. Wessiri assured Antilles of his belief in Celchu's innocence, and they parted ways, agreeing to meet again later when Antilles would join Wessiri and Iella for dinner.
When Kirtan Loor contacted Nawara Ven, volunteering to testify on Celchu's behalf, Ettyk instructed Iella to safely escort Loor to the court. Iella contacted her husband to inform him that she would not be returning home that morning, and Wessiri assured her that he would bring her some lunch to the court. Ysanne Isard had learned of the expected mystery witness and believed it to be Derricote, whom she presumed had escaped from Lusankya. To ensure that Derricote would be unable to testify, Isard commanded Wessiri to go to the courthouse and plant a bomb in the secure parking facility with the intention of killing the General. Wessiri, aware that his wife was escorting the witness, tampered with the bomb to prevent it from detonating.

When Kirtan Loor, Iella, and Nawara Ven arrived, Wessiri was compelled to open fire upon them. One of his shots wounded Ven, and Loor was killed by his gunfire. Iella returned fire, inflicting serious wounds upon the attacker, unaware that it was her husband. Upon approaching to confirm that the opponent was no longer a threat, she discovered that the attacker was Wessiri. She was deeply shocked by her discovery and attempted to assist him by summoning emergency medical assistance, but Wessiri implored her to let him die, as he could never endure living under suspicion in the manner that Celchu had. He recounted how he had been broken in the Lusankya prison and had been forced to provide reports about Celchu after his release. With his final breath, Wessiri expressed his gratitude to Iella for freeing him from Isard's influence.
Wessiri's funeral was arranged shortly thereafter on Coruscant. The event profoundly affected Iella, and she was able to endure it only with the support of Corran Horn, who had escaped from Lusankya in place of Derricote. Wessiri's passing was also difficult for his other friends, and Wedge Antilles considered his funeral to have been more challenging for him than any flight mission. Antilles also pondered whether Wessiri had, in their conversations, provided any hints of being a brainwashed agent.
While profoundly devoted to his wife, Iella, Diric Wessiri permitted her to engage in undercover missions with Corran Horn, during which they posed as a couple. Although Horn believed that any genuine romantic involvement between him and Iella would have jeopardized her marriage, Wessiri did not express anger upon learning of Wedge Antilles's interest in Iella during Wessiri's imprisonment.
Wessiri possessed a keen interest in meeting individuals he found captivating. He sought to understand them and subsequently share what he had learned. He did not invariably condone the actions of CorSec but desired to comprehend the rationale behind their decisions.
