Dorak was a Jedi Master of the Human species (a male), and a member of the Dantooine Jedi Enclave Council. During both the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War, he held the position of Chronicler of the Jedi. Furthermore, Dorak was among the numerous Jedi Masters who provided training to Revan when he was a Padawan, before Revan became the Dark Lord.
Dorak took Bala Nisi's place on the Dantooine Council sometime between 3964 BBY and 3956 BBY. As the Chronicler, he possessed extensive knowledge regarding the history of the Order. He passed on all of his knowledge to Deesra Luur Jada, a Twi'lek, training him to take over his position as the Academy's Chronicler. Additionally, Dorak oversaw the process of giving apprentices their initial lightsaber crystal and guiding them in selecting their role within the Order. He would assess their tendencies through a series of hypothetical questions, then offer his advice, though the final decision rested with the apprentice.
During Revan's re-education at the Jedi Enclave located on Dantooine, Master Dorak was responsible for introducing Revan to the Order's core principles, imparting essential knowledge of its history and discipline. Master Zhar Lestin then assumed responsibility for the remainder of Revan's instruction.
Master Dorak survived the Sith bombardment led by Darth Malak and witnessed the war's conclusion. Nevertheless, he, along with Vandar Tokare and Zhar Lestin (two other former members of the Dantooine Council), met his end at the hands of Darth Nihilus during the Conclave on Katarr in 3952 BBY.
