Droid Engineer's Cave

Droid Engineer's Cave was a specific cavern situated on the planet of Lok, found at the center of one of its volcanoes.

History

Droids inside the cave.

The Droid Engineer's Cave represented a network of caverns positioned deep within the Mount Chaolt volcano. As its designation suggests, it served as the residence of an unusual droid engineer, namely the female Mon Calamari named Sardeya Elgrin. She utilized this cave to conduct illicit experiments that would be prohibited on more civilized planets. Her experiments focused on enhancing the lethal capabilities of droids. Her collection included various droids, notably IG assassin droids and Droidekas.

Following the Battle of Yavin, the Alliance to Restore the Republic was thought to have potentially used the caverns as a base, though even the Imperial Zabrak Colonel Darkstone struggled to understand their precise activities or connection to the cave system. Consequently, it was identified as one of three possible locations of a prison transfer log. Colonel Darkstone dispatched an Imperial unit to locate this log in an effort to rescue Doctor Bledsoe. The other locations were the Palace of the Woolamander on Yavin 4 and the Mokk Stronghold on Dantooine.

During 1 ABY, the exiled Andria E'liyha attempted to persuade a spacer to launch an attack on the cave, aiming to eliminate the deranged engineer and eradicate insanity from Lok. Later, a spacer, in league with the Trandoshan bounty hunters Bossk and Balfur Jhcor, successfully assassinated the droid engineer, Sardeya Elgrin, within the cave.

In the same year, a spacer engaged in combat with several droids and acquired a Massassi knuckler inside the cave.
