Visionary

title: The Visionary

The elegant cloaked transport named the Visionary served G0-T0, a highly successful Exchange leader. He operated in both the Y'Toub system and throughout Republic territories. Uniquely, it was owned by a droid, and its entire crew consisted of droids as well. The Jedi Exile brought about its destruction during the Mission to Nar Shaddaa.

History

G0-T0 departed from the Republic's legal framework due to a computational conflict, and he adopted the persona of Goto for both credibility and protection. This allowed him to expand his reach as a powerful crime boss. Goto, an identity projected through a hologram, was based on a standard Aratech design. G0-T0 primarily utilized his yacht as a central base and for conducting hijackings. It also housed a droid control center, which coordinated thousands of droids on Nar Shaddaa and in other locations.

The Visionary

Vogga the Hutt's shipping operations suffered losses due to the theft of numerous freighters. The stolen cargo was then used to aid Republic worlds experiencing economic instability. Following the destruction of the yacht, and the end of all of G0-T0's activities on Nar Shaddaa, Vogga eventually intervened to rescue Citadel Station by supplying fuel from his reserves on Sleheyron. This assistance was part of an agreement with the Exile, which stipulated that Goto had to leave the area. Although fuel prices were rising due to the Peragus disaster, G0-T0 had effectively halted Vogga's business for some time, preventing the Hutt from demanding excessive prices.

Goto's yacht also functioned as a gathering place for bounty hunters such as Hanharr, the Twin Suns, the Zhug brothers, Gands, and HK-50 units, where they received their assignments. G0-T0, believing that the Exile's presence could lead to the discovery of another Jedi, insisted that her activities on the Smugglers' Moon remain undisturbed.

After the Exile was captured, Atton Rand orchestrated her rescue. He utilized T3-M4 to acquire transponder codes from Vogga's warehouse, enabling the Ebon Hawk to be identified as one of Vogga's freighters and subsequently be hijacked by Goto's yacht. The Exile destroyed the yacht during her escape aboard the Hawk with her rescue team. The deactivation of the ship's stygium cloaking device provided an opportunity for criminal rivals and bounty hunters to attack the previously elusive yacht. Its destruction had a long-lasting negative impact on crime and the economy in the Y'Toub system.

G0-T0, using his personal cloaking shield, managed to board the Ebon Hawk undetected and escape the destruction of his yacht. He presented himself as a gift from Goto, a gesture of goodwill, and joined the Exile's group. He claimed that tampering with his droid's behavior core would trigger an explosion capable of destroying a significant portion of a planet. He joined the Exile in her efforts to stabilize the Republic and offered compensation, concealing his true identity until the Exile eventually uncovered it herself, leaving him with no option but to deny it.

The yacht's quarters included torture chambers and holding cells, potentially intended for the crews of Vogga's abducted freighters, as well as anyone who opposed G0-T0. Despite being a yacht, it possessed surprisingly strong defenses, including large turbolaser cannons on the exterior, floating mines, minefields, defense turrets, and a substantial number of droid guardians and maintenance drones within. The boarding party responsible for rescuing the Exile had to overcome all of these defenses after entering the yacht through the starboard docking bridge, which triggered the proximity alarm.

Several computer consoles located throughout the vessel allowed for manipulation of some of the interior defenses, including the force fields of the holding cells where utility droids could be found. These droids contained programs within their memory cores that could be exploited to gain control over the ship's security systems. The audience chamber served as the location where the Exile met G0-T0 and discovered the reason behind the bounty he had placed on Jedi. The meeting was interrupted by the arrival of the rescue team, who found the Exile in the audience chamber, protected by a strong security door and numerous droid guardians and defense turrets.

The droid control center was situated at the central command, completely surrounded by mines that G0-T0 armed as the party approached. The Exile needed to reach the bridge to disable a docking hatch seal that blocked access to the Ebon Hawk, which also deactivated the ship's cloaking device. This allowed hostile ships to attack the yacht, and some were even able to board. As the Exile and two of her companions hurried to the Ebon Hawk, they were confronted by the Twin Suns in the exterior defense region, followed by Gand and Zhug bounty hunters.

Behind the scenes

The access codes for the droid controller on the yacht are incorrectly labeled as the codes for the M4-78 central computer. This error led some to believe that the M4-78 designation was assigned to Goto's yacht after the decision to remove the planet from the game, until the vessel was officially named Visionary in the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide.

An error occurs when the Visionary traps the Ebon Hawk. The Visionary extended a walkway to what was supposed to be the Ebon Hawk's airlock (located either in or behind the turbolaser turret), however, the Ebon Hawk did not actually have an airlock in that particular part of its structure.

Although the yacht's value is never explicitly stated, Goto later remarks that "The destruction of my yacht and all my activities on Nar Shaddaa carries a cost that would take you several lifetimes to repay."
