Du Mahn

Du Mahn was a Jedi Master of the Human female variety, a member of the Jedi Order during the concluding decades of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars, Mahn was stationed at the Order's training facility located on Bogden 3, where she served as a caretaker for the Jedi younglings known as the Soaring Hawkbat Clan. When fellow Jedi K'Kruhk and Sian Jeisel, accompanied by their clone troopers, arrived on the moon, Mahn extended hospitality by offering them food and shelter at the facility. During the initial implementation of Contingency Order 66, those same clone troopers killed Mahn in the presence of her students.

Biography

Du Mahn, a Force-sensitive Human female, underwent training in the ways of the Force and eventually achieved the esteemed rank of Jedi Master within the Jedi Order. Armed with a lightsaber that emitted a green blade, she was appointed as a Jedi instructor at the Jedi Temple situated on the galactic capital planet of Coruscant, where she oversaw the development of the Order's youngest Initiates. As the Clone Wars broke out between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Mahn was tasked with safeguarding the Soaring Hawkbat Clan. By 19 BBY, Mahn, along with her charges and a Padawan named Chase Piru, were stationed on the moon of Bogden 3, residing within the training facility that had been constructed there.

Du Mahn dies during Order 66

In the time leading up to the Battle of Coruscant, Mahn received notification that she and the clan were scheduled to return to the Jedi Temple on the galactic capital soon. However, the ongoing conflict caused a delay in their return, and Grand Master Yoda requested that they remain on Bogden 3 until he deemed it safe for their return. Several days after their expected arrival at the temple, Mahn and her students warmly welcomed Masters K'Kruhk and Sian Jeisel upon their arrival on Bogden 3 for repairs to their ship. As a gesture of hospitality towards the Jedi Generals and their clone troopers, Mahn and the Hawkbats organized a grand feast to welcome their comrades. However, as the feast drew to a close, the clone troopers accompanying the generals received Contingency Order 66 from the Office of the Supreme Chancellor.

The order commanded the clones to initiate fire upon all Jedi, alleging that they had betrayed the Republic. As the clones faithfully took aim at the younglings, the Jedi Masters swiftly responded. Mahn implored her students to escape, deflecting incoming fire while K'kruhk, Jeisel, and Piru defended the younglings. Mahn utilized Force-pushed to repel several troopers as she endeavored to shield the Initiates, but she was fatally shot in the back by a trooper she had previously knocked down, dying amidst the Hawkbats. Despite her demise and that of Jeisel, K'Kruhk and Piru successfully evacuated nine students, transporting them offworld.

Personality and traits

Du Mahn cared for the younglings of the Soaring Hawkbat Clan.

Master Du Mahn possessed fair skin and blue eyes. She firmly believed that conquering fear required acknowledging it, a lesson she frequently imparted to her colleague Chase Piru. During their isolation on Bogden 3 during the Clone Wars, she expressed concern about events unfolding elsewhere in the galaxy, yet she extended meals and respite to any visiting Jedi, encouraging her students, whom she affectionately referred to as soaring, to host a welcoming feast for K'Kruhk and Jeisel upon their arrival at the war's end. During Order 66, she valiantly defended the younglings to the best of her abilities, sacrificing her life in the process and urging the clan to flee with her final breath.

Equipment

While stationed at the training facility, Mahn donned Jedi robes of a light brown hue, complemented by a veil that partially concealed her face. She also wore a utility belt over her robes, which held her lightsaber, constructed with a green blade.
