The confrontation at the Font of Power involved Abeloth, a dark side entity, along with Ben Skywalker, and Vestara Khai. This battle unfolded in the year 44 ABY. Abeloth transported Ben and Vestara to her planet, with the intention of coercing them into consuming from the Font of Power. Her goal was to recreate the Family of the Ones. Ben was intended to become the Prince of Light, Vestara the Daughter of the Night, and Abeloth would assume the role previously held by the Father.

Vestara was convinced that using the Font of Power was the only way to successfully fight Abeloth, but Ben was of the opinion that they could defeat her together. Abeloth manifested and used her tentacles to restrain Ben. Ben tried to fight back physically, but his attacks were ineffective without the Force. He was eventually freed when Vestara unleashed Force lightning at Abeloth. Ben sensed the Darkness emanating from the Font of Power and halted Vestara's lightning attack.
Ben carried Vestara until they were out of range of the Font of Power. Then, Abeloth reappeared in the form of her avatar, Lady Korelei, and activated her lightsaber. Ben fully opened himself to the Force for a brief moment, shielding himself from the Font's influence. Instead, he drew upon the strength of his loved ones across the galaxy, the hope of the Jedi teachings, the promise of the future, and the hope that Vestara would embrace the light. He then unleashed a Force Blast at Abeloth, a blast powerful enough to potentially disable a warship. However, she deflected the attack and continued her advance. Vestara reiterated the need for the Font's power, but Ben maintained his belief that they could overcome Abeloth together. Ben used the Force to lift a broken pillar nearby and hurled it at Abeloth, while Vestara launched more Force lightning as a distraction. The Keshiri avatar caught the lightning in her hand and dissipated it, but was then struck in the back of the head by Ben's pillar, causing blood to splatter across the courtyard. Despite the severe injury, Abeloth remained standing and pressed forward. Ben attempted another attack, but Abeloth sent him crashing into a pillar. As Ben lost consciousness, he saw Vestara retreating towards the Font of Power.

Ben regained consciousness to Vestara's cries for help, and he immediately jumped to his feet to rescue her. Ben discovered Vestara engaged in close combat with Abeloth within a cage of Force lightning. Vestara attempted to use Force lightning to keep Abeloth at bay, but Abeloth used her tentacles to restrain Vestara. Ben noticed a shikkar on the Korelei avatar's belt and, without hesitation, used the Force to drive it through Abeloth's back, piercing her heart. Abeloth collapsed to her knees and released Vestara as she tried to reach for the dagger in her back. However, Ben used the Force to break off the handle as Vestara shot Abeloth with another barrage of Force lightning. Ben used the Force to pull Abeloth away from the Font of Power, then grabbed the pillar from before and dropped it onto the convulsing avatar. Vestara gathered more power from the Font and intended to blast Abeloth again, but Ben stopped her, telling her that Abeloth was dead.
Following their triumph over Abeloth, Saba Sebatyne eliminated the avatar of Abeloth that was inhabiting the Jedi Temple's computer core. With the destruction of her two bodies, Ben's father Luke Skywalker was able to defeat Abeloth in the realm of beyond shadows with the aid of Darth Krayt.
