Duranium plating
Duranium was a robust alloy utilized in the creation of military-specification plating. Its strength surpassed that of titanium, yet it lacked the resilience of impervium. Notably, it found application in the cybernetic armor worn by General Grievous. The very same duranium plates which proved effective for Grievous were also incorporated into the frame of the IG-100 MagnaGuard, safeguarding their crucial areas. Jedi Master Barnabas Vim was known to wear armor made of duranium.
The initial appearance of duranium occurred within the Star Wars Legends short story titled "A Boy and His Monster: The Rancor Keeper's Tale," which saw publication in Tales from Jabba's Palace during 1996. Beyond its presence in Star Wars, duranium has also featured in the science fiction universe of Star Trek.
